On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…maple syrup goods from a maple tree!

Okay, maybe starting with a rhyme was a little sappy, and, so was mentioning sap…BUT maple syrup is no joke. In fact, Canada is responsible for 27 million liters of maple syrup a year! Check out three one of a kind maple syrup inspired gifts for the foodie on your list, and, prepare to enjoy them with more than just a very tall stack of pancakes.

Ninutik – Maple Supreme, Maple Lollipops, Maple Cubes, Etc.

Aunt Jemima beware, Richard is a mad scientist. Arriving by the barrel, from Ontario producers, Richard transforms our sticky birth right into treats more becoming than the ones you find on supermarket shelves. In his workshop, maple finds a new life in blocks, pops, and creamy, impossible to resist spread. This man has taken what was once considered a condiment and has made it it’s own food group. We’re on board.

Foodies on Foot Picks: Maple Supreme – $12, Large Pops – 2 for $8, Cube 57 Combo (Cube and Shaver) – $42

Eat Your Words – Maple Syrup Candle ($15)

When you first wander in to this kitschy store, you will be met with an assortment of vintage cookbooks, gift-ware, and a staff more welcoming than warm pie. Quickly, your senses will tune to the smell of something baking, but it is not in fact pie. It’s a fresh from the oven maple syrup candle! Dawning the packaging of Quebec’s finest metal tinned syrup, you would probably be able to trick the receiver of this gift in to first thinking it was the real deal.

Ruby Eats – Candied Olives ($8.99)

Olives have lived the high life, swimming in martini glasses and garnishing pizzas. So when we came upon candied olives at one of our favorite foodie markets, we weren’t sure whether olives were ready to be sugar coated. But indeed, maple syrup does improve everything.
