Good Food & Drink Festival
It’s time for the Good Food & Drink Festival again. We had early access to the show and tasted and drank our way through the festival early this morning. Here are some of our favourite picks from the show:
Natural Cabana: A delicious natural product sweetened with Cane Sugar. Refreshing and perfect for a picnic.
Evelyn’s Crackers: “Crackers Worthy of Your Cheese”. Evelyn’s crackers are made with 100% Ontario Heritage Grains, and, some of our favourite crackers in the city. With flavours such as Slightly Seedy, Currant in the Rye, and Spicy Dal Spelt Sticks, give them all a taste and find your favourite. Definitely visit, taste, and support this local food merchant, and, their delicious crackers that come in a variety of flavours/grains.
Restor YouthJuice: An interesting product to say the least. Made of all natural ingredients, there are several positive health claims being made by this product, used as a meal replacement or breakfast. Give them a taste and listen.
Fonda Lola: The catering company of the only and only Andres Marquez. At such a young age, Andres has been actively involved in some of the most trendsetting food experiences. With this venture, he sticks to his roots providing fresh, authentic Mexican food at its best.
Mad Mexican: Some of the tastiest Mexican products made locally (in Toronto) from premium, fresh products. If you like a kick, try the Hot Guacamole and Salsa Morita (for the ultimate heat). Just the right amount of heat and plenty of flavour in these products.
Granville Island Brewing: Vancouver based micro-brewery, owned my Molson. Try the Hefenweiser…delicious!
Everyone loves food trucks, and, this show provides a good number of food trucks. Check our our pictures and eats from The Food Dudes, Gourmet Gringos, Smoke’s Poutinerie, and, Curbside Bliss.
Saving the best for last, we finally had a chance to connect with the one and only Jennifer Bain (Food Editor for the Toronto Star) and the legendary Alison Fryer (owner of the Cookbook Store). They were promoting the release of the Toronto Star Cookbook, written by Jennifer and featuring some of the best recipes from restaurants around Toronto. We have some serious #LocalLoveTO for Jennifer and it was awesome to meet her and chat.
If you are attending the show this week-end, do not forget to catch the likes of Anna Olson, James Cunningham, and Jennifer Bain on stage. Bon appetit!
