Jewels Under the Kilt and Organic Gold #FoodieDaysofChristmas Giveaway

When we say “Canadian crops”, what comes to mind? Let us guess…wheat, rye, flax, corn, pot…boring. We want you re-think it a bit and come up with mustard and nuts. That’s right, mustard and nuts.

Ready to have your mind blown? We found a woman so nutty that she found tress that could produce nuts in our ever so temperate climate. Meet Elizabeth Burrow from Jewels Under the Kilt, a family run operation out of Fergus, Ontario that grows and roasts walnuts, pecans and hazelnuts. Canadian grown nuts…for real! They were also recipients of the Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence in 2015. How nutty is that?
