Twelve Foodie Days of Christmas: Day 3 – For the Toast of the Town

As children, peanut butter and jelly were all the rage. Today, there’s still something eternally satisfying about licking spread off the back of a knife. On the third day of our foodie gift countdown, we’re all about unique combinations that come together to make a new, unforgettable toast topper. But don’t stop at bread, these choices are here to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner more delectable.

Stasis Preserves – Duck Liver Mousse + Various ($5 and up)

At Stasis Preserves, crackers are practically lining up to be chosen and devoured. With one of a kind options like duck liver mousse on the menu, we’re not just stopping at crackers either. If your gift recipient has a sweet tooth, Ontario Cherries & Red Wine Spread and Ontario Black Walnuts in Honey are also great selections, pairing well with cheese, or becoming the base for seriously delicious dressings. Just don’t be surprised when the best thing they pair with is nothing more than a spoon or finger.

Ruby Eats –  Bacon + Onion Jam ($7.99)

Now, we’re not going to say people who like bacon are weird, but you don’t have to hang bacon-shaped tea towels to be in on the craze. Ruby Eats is serving up bacon and onion jam, the perfect accompaniment to just about any sandwich. Sweet, salty, and savory, you’re covering your bases with this spread! Flying off their shelves faster than they can say “oink oink,” we’re certain it’ll impress the bacon connoisseur in your life more than bacon scented air freshener.

Kitten & the Bear – Creative Assortment of Jams ($10 each)

It’s not every day you walk in to a store and say “awww,” but Kitten & The Bear is just so adorable, there’s no sense in holding back. Just don’t expect “strawberry jam” on their shelves. The animalistic duo are making out of this world confiture (that’s French for jam). From Spiced Tomato and Tawny Port to Peach, Basil and Lime, this’ll awaken your taste buds from the cold. Served best with a fluffy scone, we bet this’ll replace whatever you had planned for breakfast Christmas day.
