Events in Toronto: 3rd Annual Toronto Wing Festival
When it comes to answering the age old question of which came first, we’re just glad that chicken exists at all, because we’re all about wings. Whether they’re hot and spicy, or sticky and sweet, this finger food is on the top of our guilty pleasures list. So when we heard about the 3rd Annual Toronto Wing Festival, and were asked to be a media sponsor, our initial reaction was….YES, YES, YES!
The Rotary Club of Toronto Skyline agrees that all wings are worthwhile, but, that a wing king deserves to be crowned! On Sunday May 4th, at Daniel’s Spectrum in Regent Park, Toronto’s best poultry pedlars will serve up their wings for a chance to take the crown in several categories including best exotic, hot, dry rub, traditional, sweet, and BBQ.
From 1:30-5:00pm, hungry foodies will eat alongside them and have a say on who deserves People’s Choice. Tickets have already sold out, no big surprise following sold out shows in 2012 and 2013. But don’t fret yet, wing competitors will have coupon codes to release some secret last minute tickets. Some familiar Toronto establishments will take part, serving up over 2000 pounds of the good stuff. Returning classic wing winners Hooters take on Lou Dawgs, newcomers to the challenge. You can find all the current competitors here!

And what’s better than eating a pile of wings on a spring afternoon? How about eating wings knowing that they donate all net proceeds to support charitable activities of the RCTS, such as Streets to Homes Toronto and the Fort York Food Bank. Reach for that extra wet nap, you’ve earned it!
We’ll be there, eating on behalf of all our foodie fans. A blog detailing our picks and the winners of the show will let you live vicariously through us, and give you ideas of where to have your next wing night in Toronto.
